Compliance Challenges
The Trade Agreements Act (TAA) (48 CFR 52.225-5) requires that Government agencies may only acquire US-made or designated country end products, or U.S. or designated country services. All companies with Federal contracts are required by law to provide products and services that are certified compliant with the TAA. Increased oversight on TAA compliance is a hot button issue in federal contracting, and is a major focus of the Office of Inspector General (OIG). Contracts that offer products or services from TAA non-designated countries are not eligible for Government contract award. Tracking TAA compliance with manual processes such as Excel spreadsheets are inefficient and susceptible to errors which increases the risk for large fines and/or contract cancellation.

To address this issues custom TAA supplier Portal was developed enabling users to easily add, remove, update and certify the TAA information required for specific products that were distributed through Federal contracts. The TAA software system solved the inconveniences of error prone manual procedures across three major business departments for McKesson via a user-friendly web based application.
